Anyone who’s ever faced the task of having to quickly locate a particular item in the depths of a backpack will love the new Atrack! The Atrack outdoor backpack zippers open like a suitcase, greatly simplifying your packing logistics by giving you an at-a-glance overview of – and immediate access to – the individual items in your pack. You can also set the Atrack down on its front side to keep the harness system clean and dry.

The Atrack not only spares you the inconvenient rummaging through your backpack, it allows you to do without a rain cover. No matter whether you get caught in a downpour or have to swim through a river, your gear will remain absolutely dry! This is because the pack’s PVC-free nylon material and TIZIP zipper are 100% waterproof. By the way, the zipper is located on the side that contacts your back, which also protects against theft in a crowd.

Better than the ad.

I got one of these when my trusty pack wore out in the middle of a year-long adventure. While very expensive for a medium pack, I went with it because I have had good experience with the Ortlieb paniers. I also needed a bicycle trunk bag for touring and thought this might work. I've now had it for several months and it's been through several trials: airlines (carry-on size!), pouring rain (stayed dry even after four hours on a bike, zipper side up), and the wear and tear of everyday camping use. The harness is indeed extremely adjustable and comfortable. The profile of the frame also allows for airflow on your back.
What the ad does not tell you (and should) is that the harness can be removed. I recommend doing it at home with a screwdriver, not on the road with a multitool, but both methods work. I was able to mail home the harness when my trip changed to primarily cycle touring, which was fantastic. I use the compression straps to create 5 points of connection with the rear bike rack and haven't noticed any issues after 2 months of daily use. The water access is also handy to refill water bottles from a water bladder without opening the bag, and hose can be secured into outer bottle holder mesh while riding.

Great bag for work and play in the Arctic

Ticks all the boxes for me - comfortable, strongly built, waterproof, easy access, pockets to keep things organised on the inside and accessible on the outside/hip belts. Low profile, functional, well thought out. This bag is set to be a constant companion.
